The client has since been trading successfully in North America, South East Asia and Europe.
• Identified potential acquisition targets for an Industrial Parts Manufacturer. The research was focused in France where there is a high demand for spare parts and a highly competitive market. DG Consultancy provided crucial information for the company and development of the business in France, which led to the acquisition of a distributor in the North East of the France.

Language Skills & Cultural Competences - Case Studies

• DG Consultancy supplied translations and interpreting services during the acquisition process of a "spare parts" distributor in France. Documents varied from simple correspondence to sales contracts. This service enabled the acquisition to take place smoothly and promptly.
  Interpreting services included discussions with buyer, overseas vendor, notary, staff (work’s contracts, salaries…), town hall (purchase of a new building), architect
  (refurbishment of the existing premises), recruitment agency (hiring a
  new manager).
  Some of the challenges included appeasing the staff morale and
  vendor’s uncertainties. The French passionate temperament can
  sometimes be in conflict with the cool British spirit.
  
  
• DG Consultancy researched routes to market industrial products in
  North African countries where cultural differences are drastically

• The management of an "International Help Desk" for a Pharmaceutical Conference in Vancouver, recruiting, managing multilingual staff (French, German, Spanish, Japanese), dealing with queries and crisis management, evaluating traffic flow, making recommendations for future events. The challenges included the recruitment of appropriate staff (Japanese speaker). The "International Help Desk" enabled the Client to increase brand recognition in a highly competitive market whilst offering quality care to delegates.



• Interpretor and facilitator at the FDA Congres Paris (French
  Dental Association) for a manufacturer of Infection Control
  Equipment. The challenges included spotting end users
  (dental practices) and giving "on the spot" interpretation
  services in a technical environment.

Biography

Delphine Greenhalgh, creator of DG Consultancy, is originally from Brittany, France. She graduated in International Trade from Rennes University and has a Post–Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management from Manchester University. Delphine has worked as an international marketing and market research consultant for major UK companies and has acquired a broad experience across Europe and North America where she lived and worked for a year.
Delphine was awarded “Chamber Member of the Year” in 2002 for her continuing support and work carried out for Rochdale Chamber of Commerce in improving members satisfaction levels.
As well as being dedicated to helping companies, organisations and individuals develop further internationally, Delphine is a member of BPW UK Ltd (Business & Professional Women). She was BPW North West marketing coordinator in 2003, BPW Rochdale Programme Coordinator 2005 and more recently BPW Rochdale Vice President in 2006 and acting President in late 2007.
She is a member of Salford University and Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. She is currently working towards a National Interpreting Qualification.
